MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Hope the holidays were as fun for you as they were for us. We enjoyed the peace and quiet because we know, Christmas from here on out will never be quiet with three kids. :)
Here is a picture of Ali on Christmas day. We hit 33 weeks on Saturday, which is the average birthday of triplets. So, I guess you can say we are beating the odds so far. C-Section date is still Jan. 15th, 2010 at 1pm. Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes. Keep them coming....we will need them to get us through the next 17 days healthy. Have a great new year!!!

TRY TO IMAGINE ABOUT 13 LBS OF BABY IN YOUR BELLY! WOW!!!!

Well today was another exciting day for us.........ULTRASOUND DAY!!! It's been our first ultrasound in 4 weeks, so we were looking forward to seeing the babies again. Most importantly, we were looking forward to seeing if they have grown and how much they have gained. We were shocked when we heard the results. Baby A is still the little peanut of the bunch. Not sure if you can tell by this picture, but A's head is literally underneath C's gut. If you look at the picture and tilt your head down to the left(I'm sure 3/4 of you reading this tried to tilt their head to the left and continue reading. LOL! Doesn't take much to fool you), you can see her/his face with two little eyes, chubby cheeks and a little mouth. Right to the right of A's head is a big round circle. That circle is C's belly just pressing down on A. To make a long story short, A has the least amount of room out of all of them. A's heartbeat was 147 and weighed 3.15
B, on the other hand has more room and seems to have the chubbiest of cheeks. (the chubby cheeks are definitely a McWilliams trait) If you tilt your head to the right you can see B's face.
B's heartbeat was 153 and weighs 4.5
NOW.......let's talk about C! You can tell by this picture how big C is compared to it's siblings. Cheeks ARE HUGE!
C is obviously the bully of the bunch and seems to be outgrowing and stealing all the food from his or her brothers and sisters. Heart rate was 156 and C weighs in with a weight of 4.12
HOLY COW! We cannot believe how much C was compared to the rest. It's already evident that C will be the bully of the bunch.
Like always we are really blessed with the good news once again. The thought that Ali is carrying almost 13 lbs of baby in her belly is crazy to think of.........and we still have 3 weeks to go. The normal weight gain is 1/2 lb a week from this point out, so we are hoping to have three babies over 5 lbs, if possible.
Only other news is this..........the C-section date was changed again. Unless Ali goes into labor before, we should hopefully have three healthy babies at 1pm, January 15th, 2010. What a great way to start off the new year and what a great way to celebrate my mother's birthday on the 15th.
Thanks for all your prayers. Stay tuned............

DATE CHANGED.....DR. MESSED UP DATE

Just want to update all of you that the date and week have changed for the scheduled c-section. The doctors messed up with the date and the new week that the babies should arrive will be Jan 11-15th. Not 100% sure what day exactly, but it should be sometime that week. On another note, we had a biophysical today and the babies all got PERFECT 10's again. YIPPEE! Ali is still feeling good, but it shows that it's getting harder and harder each week. These last few weeks will go by slow for her I'm sure.

THE NEWS WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

So, today was the a BIG day for us and a day that we have been waiting for. Up until now, we knew that each week we completed was a big accomplishment........but we knew it wasn't long, until we would hear the news we heard today. As of today, the doctors have set a tentative date for the c-section on January 5th. I say tentative because it depends on if the babies lungs are developed enough or not. YES, I said JAN 5th......that is 3 weeks away. 3 WEEKS! 21 DAYS!!! AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh! We are so excited and so nervous. I can't even explain the feeling. I promise to update you as we find more news, but that is all for now. THE REAL COUNTDOWN BEGINS!!!!

31 WEEKS and still counting...........................

31 AND STILL COUNTING..........

I know many of you who don't get to see us much have been asking about how things are going, so I thought I would give you a quick update.  So far, this blog has been kind of quiet with little drama (some may say it's boring), but I thank God for that boring/little drama.  Things could be worse at this time and we are so thankful that Ali is still healthy and going strong.  Tomorrow is our 31 week mark.........one week away from our second goal of 32 weeks.  By now, the babies are a little over 3 lbs each, which means if they were to be born today, they would have a very good chance of doing well from the start.  Our final goal is 35-37 weeks.  Average birth for triplets is 33 weeks and the most the doctor will let us go will be 37 weeks.  So that means, these babies will be here before the end of Jan.  Scary to think how fast these past 7 months have been.  We really are blessed to have made it this far and we thank all of you for your prayers.

Our biophysicals have been PERFECT so far.  We had one last Wed and this Wed and all three babies got a PERFECT 10.  :)

The test looks for spinal and limb movement, fluid, heartrate and breathing and ranks them 2 points each.  If they get an 8 or less, the doctor is notified and if the score is below 8 you may have to stay overnight in the hospital.  Like I said, so far we have gotten perfect tens for each baby.  We are proud and happy to know we don't have any problems.  After our last appointment we got to take a tour of the neonatal intensive care unit in the hospital.  We were in there no more than 2 mins before Ali and I were in tears.  Neither one of us have ever seen babies so small, innocent and helpless that are fighting for their lives.  It is so sad to see such a tiny life, struggling to breath...........but it is amazing to know what medicine can do and how these little lives can be saved.  We got a tour of the whole center and most likely our babies will have to be in there for at least a few days.  It all depends on how well they are doing.  If there are any problems, a few days stay, could quickly turn into a few weeks to months.

At this point, all we can do is stay healthy, happy and keep Ali's belly full of good food and water. :)
